The Sundance Film Festival was back to in-person business this year, and I joined a group of fantastic graduate students and friends to traverse up the mountain to see some truly outstanding films and take in the sights in Park City, UT.
Sammy Fernandez, Caleb Okereke, Aly Hill, and Gia Almuaili discussed the films as they bussed to the theatre from the park-and-ride location.
Caleb, Aly, and Grace Rogers enjoyed some possible celebrity sightings on Main Street!
Liz Becker, Jake Jensen, Gia, Sammy, and I waited in the ticket line for the fantastic film, Radical .
My favorite part: the Q&A for Radical .
Some of my favorite films from this year’s festival (keeping in mind that I definitely didn’t see the full roster) included: Radical, The Persian Version , All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt , The Pod Generation , A Little Prayer , and The Starling Girl .
As an amazing coincidence, I found and sat by a friend I went to high school with and hadn’t seen for years, Andrea (Turcotte) Nelson, at the premier of The Starling Girl . Andrea had flown in from her home in Fargo to see the film, and we just happened to walk by each other in line. What an absolute treat it was to see Andrea again!
