Last week I headed to the University of Cincinnati for the 2017 Rhetoric of Health and Medicine Symposium. I had the pleasure of finally meeting the amazing Lisa Meloncon (pictured above); who has overseen the symposium since its start in 2013; catching up with my friend and extremely smart former advisee Melissa Carrion (also pictured above); having a bunch of great conversations with people doing fabulous scholarship; and delivering a keynote address entitled “Accounting for Scientific Attribution.” I also got to speak a bit with Lisa and Blake Scott about how their new journal, Rhetoric of Health & Medicine, has started accepting submissions (I am one of the Associate Editors, and I’m so excited about this new publication outlet). It was a really fun and productive few days–thank you so much for the invitation, Lisa!
